Project: Varannan Vatten
Client: Uppsala Student Nations
Valborg is by far the biggest event in Uppsala each year. On the last day of april, over 50.000 people meet in parks around town, drinking, hanging around and having a good time. At such a day, there are a lot of direct issues with alcohol. To prevent and help help fight that issue, the campaign Varannan Vatten started during 2009. It was a reminder to people to drink every other water, but also a direct way of accually get people less drunk, as the core of the campaign is handing out real bottles of water for free, to anyone who wants one. First year, 10.000 bottles were handed out. At 2016, around 70.000 were given away over the course of the weekend. I have been in charge of the design for all the campaigns from the start 2009, making posters, bottle designs, banners, folders, custom made t-shirts for workers and much more. The illustration as a central element has been a great way of making the t-shirt attractive enough that volunteers keep them and use them privately during the years to come, instead of throwing it away after the campaign days. That way, there is a good chance to catch a glimpse of Varannan Vatten all year long at nations around the city.
